Nutrition Education Improves Metabolic Outcomes among Older Adults with Diabetes Mellitus
  This is a new intense, 10 session nutrition education program, with a food label focus, developed by researchers at Penn State University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. The program has been shown to help adults with diabetes age 65 and older improve their eating patterns and move toward meeting their treatment goals. Participants in the program changed their diets and had greater improvements in their blood sugar and cholesterol levels than people who were not counseled through the new approach.
